About the event
A Program of new works by young composers, all written especially for Kluster5. Get to know the different sound worlds of some of the most talented composers of today, all standing at the start of a promising career.
Listen to subtle colours and sound worlds to slowly disappear in, take a side-path toward wilder grounds, and dive into a space where music and surroundings melt together. Jan-Peter de Graaff and Celia Swart wrote compositions inspired by The Hague; Kluster5’s home town. Graham Flett presents a forward-moving dialogue of erratic music. Gaudeamus Award-winner Aart Strootman based his composition on an improvisation by the brilliant Micha Mengelberg in the last phase of his life. In the Nocturne by Gaudeamus nominee Chaz Underriner, the sounds of the ensemble melt with the sounds of his home ground in the hills of Texas.
